We are delighted to announce that Jason Barry-Smith will compère the ASPIRE International Youth Music Festival Gala Performance night on the 9th July.

Jason reflects on what makes ASPIRE special.

“During the past months I’ve been involved in some really exciting projects for other companies that have made me think a lot about how music impacts on our lives. When you’re involved in music you’re on a path that builds life-long skills, raises your aspirations and expectations of yourself and others, and builds dynamic communities. Student Horizons has its thinking so right about all of these things, and more, and that’s why I’m so thrilled to be an Ambassador.

The ASPIRE International Youth Music Festival has skill, aspiration and community building at its heart, and that’s its greatest asset. Not only do participants build on their hard-earned skills with masterclasses from internationally renowned musicians, they come together in a competitive environment that will heighten their perspective of international musical standards and practise, as well as building life-long connections within the international musical community. I am delighted to be involved in the Festival and I look forward to compering the ASPIRE Gala Performance evening on the Sunday 9th July.

How thrilling to know that these outstanding opportunities are available to all young musicians.

How will you and your youth musical community make the most of this exciting new initiative?”
