Born and raised in the beautiful Barossa Valley region of South Australia, Lauren began playing horn at age sixteen.

After graduating from Elder Conservatorium at Adelaide University, Lauren continued her studies at Melbourne University under the direction of Geoff Collinson and world famous horn soloist, Barry Tuckwell. During her time in Victoria, Lauren frequently performed as a guest musician with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Opera Victoria. She has gone on to perform with every orchestra in Australia and New Zealand.

Lauren joined Queensland Symphony Orchestra in 2009. Outside of her responsibilities as a musician with QSO Lauren continues to be a highly sought after guest musician with Australasian Orchestras and has toured internationally with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. She is particularly passionate about developing new classical music audiences, youth music, education and is a regular tutor for various Queensland Youth and Australian Youth Orchestra programs.

As a receipt recipient of the prestigious Churchill Fellowship Award Lauren travelled throughout Europe and the United States in 2018 meeting and playing for the world’s best horn players and pedagogues. She relishes the opportunity to disseminate her findings.
