The ASPIRE experience is about global interconnectedness; providing young musicians the opportunity to connect through music and directly share experiences with like-minded peers from around the world through performance, learning opportunities and competition. A festival on a new level, the ASPIRE International Youth Music Festival has attracted world renowned adjudicators from across the globe and is appealing to the best young musicians internationally.
Although foremost a competition, The ASPIRE International Youth Music Festival offers our global music community so much more. ASPIRE is about fostering a culture of musical excellence through shared learning and performance. It’s about raising aspirations and challenging a young musician’s ability through discovery and competition.
Sharing these experiences with an audience and in front of practiced, globally recognised adjudicators opens young minds to opportunities, creating pathways to future possibilities and raising aspirations for all involved.
At ASPIRE, adjudicators share and participants learn. Guaranteed audiences provide participants the opportunity to truly engage in the reality of performance, while the competition, masterclasses and workshops raise aspirations to ensure ASPIRE continually attracts and selects the best musicians worldwide.
“It was an honour to be the Artistic Director of the Inaugural ASPIRE International Youth Music Festival. The very high calibre of the industry and tertiary adjudicators and clinicians helped to make it an extra special music experience for the young musicians participating. The combination of competition and learning and development ensured for a highly enjoyable and worthwhile experience for students and teachers alike. ASPIRE 2017 was a great success. I am confident in the team at ASPIRE to build on this success and present a truly international youth music festival in 2019, attracting some of the very best school music talent to Brisbane from around the world.”
